Adopt an ordinance approving Zoning Ordinance Amendment No. 2016 -01 to revise SAMC <br />Chapter 4.1, Article XVII.I (Massage). <br />Request of the Applicant <br />The City of Santa Ana is requesting amendments to Chapter 22 and Chapter 41 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code (SAMC) to be in compliance with new State of California legislation related to the <br />regulation of massage establishments citywide, <br />Proiect Description <br />The requested action will amend Sections 21 -1 through 22 -17 [Chapter 22] and 41 -1750 through 41- <br />1799 [Chapter 41, Article XVILI (Massage)] citywide. Massage establishments currently require <br />either a conditional use permit (CUP) or land use certificate (LUC) and a massage operator permit <br />issued through the Santa Ana Police Department to operate within the city. The requested <br />amendments will replace CUP and LUC requirements with a ministerial permit process and <br />enforceable operating standards. The requested amendments will update the Code to be in <br />compliance with new State legislation pertaining to massage establishments. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />75A -3 <br />
