areas not intended to receive irrigation is controlled. The Contractor shall repair at his <br />own expense, by way of CITA's, any irrigation head and lateral line rendered inoperable <br />or malfunctioning due to attrition, vandalism, etc. All other repairs, RCV to meter, shall <br />be performed by Certified Irrigation Technicians and shall be "tagged" using the City of <br />Santa Ana Park Services "tagging" system noting the Company and Irrigation Tech that <br />performed the repair, the date of the repair and the Contractor's and Irrigation <br />Technicians contact information. All repairs shall be warrantied for two years from the <br />date of the approved repair. All head and lateral lines shall be repaired within five days <br />of discovery of malfunction/repairs needed. All other irrigation repairs shall be <br />performed immediately following approval of the work. <br />The CMIT shall perform a daily visual inspection of all irrigated areas first thing each <br />morning. All areas receiving marginal coverage shall receive supplemental irrigation by <br />being irrigated by a portable irrigation method. The contractor shall furnish all portable <br />hoses, nozzles, sprinklers, etc., necessary to accomplish this additional irrigation. Care <br />shall be exercised to prevent a waste of water, erosion, and/or detrimental seepage into <br />existing underground improvements or structures. <br />8.5 Repairs <br />The Contractor shall be responsible at his own expense for repairs to all irrigation <br />portions of the system on the downstream side of the remote control valves, including but <br />not limited to: heads, swing joints and lateral lines as a part of this agreement. The City <br />will be responsible for repairs to the irrigation system from the valve to the water meter. <br />The Contractor shall submit proposals to the Director's Representative for extra work to <br />repair/improve the irrigation system from the RCV to the meter. <br />9.0 Work Not Scheduled <br />The Director's Representative may delete a portion of the specification or the entire work site <br />from contractual maintenance during a construction period or for any reason. The deletion of this <br />portion of work will be reflected as a reduction in the monthly payment to the Contractor. The <br />amount of reduction will be based on the percentage of area involved and will be determined by <br />the City. <br />10.0 City Inspection <br />The Director's Representative shall regularly inspect Civic Center and all other City property <br />subject to this Agreement. If said inspection results in discovery of work that is not performed in <br />the manner, and to the professional degree set forth in the Specifications, The Contractor agrees <br />that the City shall; 1) withhold from Contractor's next monthly payment, the City's actual or <br />estimated cost of performing the work; or, 2) hire a contractor or City staff to perform the work <br />not performed and then withhold from the Contractor's next monthly payment the City's actual <br />cost for performing the work to bring the property into conformance with the specifications. <br />Additionally, City shall impose liquidated damages of up to $300.00 per inspection, per park, per <br />item specified herein not performed, per day not meeting the specifications during any such <br />inspection. <br />City of Santa Ana RFP 16-063 <br />Page 25 <br />
