CITA in the art of professional quality irrigation system repairs. Should the CITA be <br />found performing repairs without the presence of the CMIT and/or CIT a penalty of up to <br />$500 will be issued to the Contractor <br />8.2 Operation of Automatic Irrigation Controllers <br />Where the operation of automatic irrigation controllers is required, the Contractor's <br />CMIT shall: <br />Not duplicate any coded City key furnished by the Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Agency for access and operation of the controller. <br />Surrender all keys furnished by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency <br />at the end of the contract period or at any time deemed necessary by the Director's <br />Representative to prevent serious loss to the City of Santa Ana. <br />Protect the security of City property by keeping controller cabinet and building doors <br />locked at all times. <br />Refrain from using locked premises for storage of materials, supplies or tools, except as <br />approved by the Director's Representative. <br />Program normal irrigation between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. unless <br />alternative hours are approved by City. <br />8.3 Water Conservation <br />The Contractors Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) shall meet when requested with the <br />Director's Representative to review the Monthly Water Conservation Report to discuss <br />water conservation strategies. These discussions may include, but not be limited to, the <br />Contractor turning off irrigation systems during periods of rainfall and times when <br />suspension of irrigation is desirable to conserve water while remaining within the <br />guidelines of the EAW. <br />When Park Services determines that plant material (turf, groundcover, shrubs, and trees) <br />must be irrigated, all controllers shall be activated within twenty-four (24) hours. <br />8.4 Inspection and Reporting <br />The Certified Irrigation Technicians (CIT) shall physically inspect the operation of all <br />irrigation systems once a month and prepare a written report specifying controller <br />location/name, start times, run times, program name, station number, water budget <br />percent, weekly Et and deficiencies. All deficiencies shall be cured/repaired within five <br />working days or the Director's Representative shall impose penalties for failure to <br />respond and/or hire a Certified Irrigation Technician to remedy the system. The <br />Contractor shall maintain all sprinkler systems using City standard irrigation products <br />and details. All repairs shall be to City of Santa Ana Park Services' specifications and <br />details. Repairs to irrigation heads shall be with matching precipitation nozzles. <br />Contractor shall ensure that excessive over spray/runoff into street right-of-ways or other <br />City of Santa Ana RFP 16-063 <br />Page 24 <br />
