access, writing materials <br />For Teaching artists: to support the artists and their work, the curriculum materials, <br />snacks and water, parking (time and travel) <br />Supplemental Question 1:: <br />We would hope that our workshops would be included in marketing materials used to <br />promote art making opportunities to the Santa Ana Community. Would also like to learn <br />more ways to share this information within the city structure. <br />Supplemental Question 2:: <br />This is a continuing program that is successfully growing. Since the summer of 2015 1 <br />have led the Playwriting and Theater - Making Series (with the support of my theater <br />organization) and will have completed (all free): up to 30 playwriting / theatre - making <br />workshops taught by professional playwrights and artists, three public shared readings, <br />up to ten additional 'office hours" days (space opened to allow participants space to <br />work), an open mic night hosted by professional actor and artist, Karen Anzoategui, and <br />have reached nearly 200 participants in just the workshops alone. Through each <br />process I continue to asses, refine and adjust the workshops in order to better serve the <br />project, its purpose and participants. One of the discoveries through the process and <br />participants is a desire to explore acting, producing and classes made available in <br />Spanish. <br />Supplemental Question 3:: <br />At the end each session, a total of three, we will culminate in a free public reading of the <br />writings generated by the participants to be presented for free and accessible to the <br />public. The process will be supported by professional theatre artists. Readers will be a <br />blend of professional, local and community actors and directors. <br />Supplemental Question 4:: <br />1. Participants leave program with an introductory playwriting and theatre making tools <br />taught by professional theatre makers and playwrights working in American Theatre <br />locally and nationally <br />2. Participants will see themselves as creative story- tellers / playwrights <br />3. Participants will have participated in constructive and devising discussions regarding <br />their work and others <br />4. Participants will have engaged and participated in collaborative rehearsal process to <br />prepare for their public reading <br />5. Participants will share their new work read aloud with their audience of families, <br />friends, supporters at a free public reading <br />6. Participants stories will be reflective of themselves and of their community <br />7. Participants will be exposed to the many intricate aspects of Santa Ana with the <br />series hosted at various Santa Ana organizations and locations associated with the <br />project. <br />8. Participants will leave with an introspective understanding of story- telling, a <br />relationship to theatre and to community building <br />
