confident I will be able to build a significant list of writers who are interested. Most
recently, I have scheduled for Erika T. Wurth and Isabel Quintero to provide a free
workshop and reading at GCAC on June 2, 2016. A second workshop and reading
event is pending confirmation for fall along with a "Women's Stories From the Margins"
exhibit. With the support of the Arts Grant for the LibroMobile, and the combined efforts
of GCAC and ABM, we will build a literary arts model that will take literature into our
streets and inspire more of our residents to share their community pride, cultural
resilience and commitment to the arts of Santa Ana.
Supplemental Question 1::
Since the LibroMobile will be dispersing information, I will acquire a City of Santa Ana
Business Tax License.
Supplemental Question 2::
This is a new program, which will begin late May 2016 by exhibiting AntenaMovil at
GCAC. Currently, the initiative is only being presented as literary series, which
continues with a free workshop and reading in June. In the fall we are hosting another
writer with the goal to display a literary exhibit at a later date. If funding is received the
literary series will develop into the LibroMobile project.
Supplemental Question 3::
Yes, all of the workshops, readings and exhibits will be free. The Little Free Library will
offer a free book exchange and the bookmobile will provide books at low economical
prices.
Supplemental Question 4::
LibroMobile is designed to bring diverse literature and literary presentations to Santa
Ana. One goal is to conduct community -based writing workshops, readings and visual
exhibits, free of professional charge, to underrepresented residents interested, including
youth of color and Spanish speaking, low- income populations at the two hosting
locations.
