will be displayed on temporary walls in the John M. Lee Court wing of the museum. The
temporary walls will displayed throughout the The John M. Lee Court wing measuring is
50' x 90' wall to wall. The size of the photography on the temporary outer walls will vary
in the following sizes: 8 "x10 ", 11 "x14 ", 12 "x18 ", 16 "x20 ", 30 "x40" plus additional sizes
based on photographs captured per core topics of the city. In addition to the outer wall
place, temporary "floating" walls will be placed in the center of the space. The walls
located in the center (floating walls) of the museum space will be 14' tall x 8' wide x 2'
wide. There will be 2 of the floating walls in the center of the museum space. These
walls will present work in different mediums at a large scale/ these 4 pieces on the 2
floating walls will give the viewer a grand scale of my photography. The 4 different
mediums I will present on the 2 floating walls are as follows:
1. Wood transfer of a select photograph.
2. Wheat pasted image of a select photograph with the look and feel of a "street art"
piece.
3. Mounted large scale photo prints on gator board with a border to compliment the
mounted photography, the sizes on large scale prints will be 7' x 8' to fill the 14'x 8' wall
space.
4. Large scale photo print of a select photograph presented as a tryptic (2 large scale
pieces to create one grand image). This will be a digital black and white print on paper
mounted on 2 custom frames.
The following large scale prints will be selected from the different categories presented
on the outer temporary wall space. These large scale images will compliment the
photography on display on the outer temporary walls.
A lecture and slide -show/ video of the experience in photographing the city will be part
of the nights events. This will take place in the theatre hall of Bowers Museum.
Once the project has been complete and presented at Bowers Museum I will create a
website (blog/ tumblr) featuring all the imagery (photography/ video) from this project.
This website will be completed and marketed for viewers to access the project from their
select devices.
Supplemental Question 4::
The proposed project:
"Life and Culture in the Golden City
A Social Documentary of Santa Ana presented in Photography" is focused on showing
key aspects of the City of Santa Ana. From the architecture both historic and modern,
how residents live and interact with the city and the diversity in the various cultures that
help enrich and make Santa Ana unique.
My proposed project will help bring elements of the city to residents and the general
public that only a few have truly experienced a small portion of what Santa Ana has to
offer. Part of my project will focus on photographing the places and people that currently
contribute to the growing arts and culture community of Santa Ana such as musicians,
music venues, active artists of all mediums, art galleries (along with the gallery owners),
performing arts venues/ groups, The Frida Cinema (a non - profit Art House theatre, the
