Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with the <br />Greater Santa Ana Vitality Foundation, a non-profit arm of the Santa Ana Chamber of <br />Commerce, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney, for economic development services, for a one-year period ending on December 20, <br />2017, in the amount not to exceed $500,000. <br />2. Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $500,000 in revenue fees account (no. <br />01102002-51601) and appropriate the funds to the Economic Development Contract Services <br />expenditure account (no. 01118810-62300) for the agreement with Greater Santa Ana Vitality <br />Foundation. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The recommended item noted above was brought forth to the City Council for considederation <br />and approval during the fiscal year 2016-17 budget process. The recommended action requests <br />for reallocation of funds (held in a Trust account) for appropriation and expenditure in the <br />program noted above. The At the September 20 City Council meeting, staff presented several <br />options for the disbursement of one million dollars in City funds for economic development <br />activities. These funds were designated to encourage local private and public partnerships, <br />increase vibrant economic development activities, leverage limited city resources, and focus on <br />short-term economic stabilization and long-term economic stability. City Council provided <br />direction to allocate $500,000 to the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce Economic Development <br />Council (EDC). <br />The mission of the Santa Ana Chamber Economic Development Council is to bring together <br />active stakeholders in the city who all desire the same collective outcome: a vibrant, sustainable <br />and attractive business climate that allows for both revenue and tax growth, but also paves the <br />20A-1 <br />
