<br /> Gentlemen:
<br /> It is respectfully requested that the Refuse Collection Service Contract
<br /> between the City of Santa Ana and Great Western Reclamation, Inc. be
<br /> mended in the following particulars:
<br /> 1. SECTION 3 (b) of the specifications be attended as follows: Contract
<br /> shall be for a period of (5) years. It shall beccue effective
<br /> the first day of November, 1975 and shall terminate the thirty-first
<br /> day of October, 1980. This agreement will automatically extend itself
<br /> for an additional one-year period on the thirty-first day of each
<br /> succeeding October unless otherwise notified in writing by either
<br /> party to this agreement before the first day of May during each year
<br /> of this contract.
<br /> 2. SECTION 4 (a) of the specifications be amended as follows: The
<br /> following words and figures are added thereto: In addition to the
<br /> contract unit price, plus any cost of living increase as provided in
<br /> Section 4 (b) , Compensation Readjustments, the following amounts per
<br /> active water meter per month shall be added on the dates indicated.

<br /> 3. Effective November 1, 1975 drop the requirements wherein Great
<br /> Western Reclamation, Inc. pays to the City of Santa Ana certain
<br /> sums of money as provided for in a SUPPLEMENT TO AGREEMENT dated
<br /> December 10, 1973, listed under "Recitals" C, 3, B.
<br /> 4. SECTION 4 (b) "ONnpensation Readjustments" shall be made only one (1)
<br /> time per year, November 1 as follows: On the first day of each
<br /> November of each succeeding year, the contract unit price shall be
<br /> adjusted to reflect the percentage change in the Consumrs° Price
<br /> Index (1957-59 base) Los Angeles Area, published by the U.S. Department
<br /> of Labor, as indicated by the index figure most recently published
<br /> prior to the annual adjustment.
