INDUSTRY - VALUED POST - SECONDARY CREDENTIAL ATTAINMENT: Under the State Plan, regional sector <br />I pathway programs should result in the attainment of industry- valued and recognized post - secondary <br />credentials that are portable and aligned with regional workforce needs. <br />f <br />IDENTIFY THE PROCESS TO DETERMINE VALUED AND RECOGNIZED CREDENTIALS The OC Region <br />leveraged existing CTE steering committees, a working group dedicated and actively engaged in a process of inventorying <br />current curriculum, sector partnerships, and industry targeted efforts. Customer- focused and industry led efforts are key <br />drivers at the OC Network meetings that bring together business, industry, workforce, and education partners. A series of <br />business /industry focus groups combined with EDD regional and local labor <br />a market information provides context for the determination of valued and <br />industry recognized credentials. The process to vet valued and recognized <br />- credentials included: <br />Partner engagement- bringing the right mix of key stakeholders and <br />decision makers to the table <br />Soliciting business /community input- focus groups, work groups, town <br />hall meetings, surveys <br />Evaluation and assessment- inventory of current credentials, asset <br />mapping <br />19D -33 <br />Page 18 <br />
