The <br />site is expected to go live early in 2017. <br />(PRCSA) The library coordinates its <br />Workforce Investment Opportunity Act <br />program with CTV -3 to engage youth in <br />training in producing videos to interest, <br />engage and inform youth. <br />(PRCSA) In April of 2016, the Santa Ana <br />Public Library hosted a Youth Services <br />Provider Summit for the city's key <br />stakeholders in youth development and <br />education. Nearly one hundred <br />attendees explored the subject under <br />the aegis of Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg who is <br />one of the country's best -known experts <br />on the treatment of homeless and <br />marginalized youth. <br />(PRCSA) The library's Children's Services <br />Department has committed itself to <br />increasing early literacy among Santa <br />Ana's young children by providing Early <br />Literacy stations which contain games, <br />books and tablets that promote <br />academic development and enable <br />parents to read to their children in an <br />interactive environment. <br />(PRCSA) The library continues to expand <br />services to teens and young adults. With <br />the help of volunteers, staff, and Youth <br />Civic Engagement Interns, the Young <br />Adult Department supports the City's <br />Youth Commission, offers workshops on <br />college choice, financial aid, FAFSA <br />applications, provides tutoring, <br />computer access and 12 -15 programs <br />weekly for teens. Staff also recruits and <br />mentors youth volunteers, encouraging <br />community service and engaging them <br />with the library. <br />• (PRCSA) The library has hosted exhibits <br />of traditional toys from Mexico provided <br />by the Mexican Consulate and complex <br />origami created by a nine -year old <br />Orange County boy. <br />The Santa Ana Public Library was awarded a <br />$495,000 federal grant from the National <br />Institute for Museum and Library Services for <br />the Memories of Migration Program. Memories <br />of Migration is a 3 -year community memory <br />program that builds on the Library's unique <br />Teen Historian Program to jump start the <br />development of cultural heritage collections <br />around the shared stories of human migration in <br />America. <br />• (PRCSA) The Memories of Migration <br />Program grant is in its third and final <br />year. The Teen Historians have <br />developed and implemented techniques <br />for gathering migration stories from local <br />residents. The archive to date consists of <br />oral histories, photos and media. The <br />project can be found on Facebook, <br />History Pin, and the library's website. <br />The team has also provided training and <br />support for similar projects at West <br />Hartford, CN, Queens, NY, New Mexico <br />Highlands University and the New <br />Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. <br />Seek joint -use and other funding opportunities <br />to establish a community e- Library. The "Biblio <br />Tech" leverages technology tools to help the <br />public access library resources. <br />• (PRCSA) The e- Library has two <br />components. The first is an <br />enhancement to the number and kinds <br />of e- resources the library provides to the <br />community.
