Some <br />locations will require guards to be bilingual (see Scope by Location) <br />(b) Experience - Guards assigned to work under this Contract must have had prior <br />security guard experience of relevant nature. <br />(c) Knowledge /Skills- Guards must have experience using and ability to use a <br />typewriter, word processor, or computer terminal. Guards must have the <br />ability to construct and write clear and accurate detailed reports. <br />(d) Guard Registration Card- Guards must at all times, be in possession of a <br />current guard registration card issued by the California Department of <br />Consumer Affairs while assigned to the City contract. Temporary guard cards <br />are not acceptable. <br />(e) Drug Testing- All guards shall successfully pass a pre - employment drug <br />screening examination within six (6) months of their assignment. Drug testing <br />will be arranged for the guards by the Contractor at its own expense prior to <br />assignment at any City facility. <br />(f) Background Check- Contractor shall certify that all personnel have <br />successfully passed a criminal background check prior to assignment to any <br />City facility. <br />(g) Training- Guards are required to have received training in First Aid and CPR, <br />with current certification, as well as training in security and emergency <br />procedures, crowd control, and public relations. First Aid and CPR training <br />will be arranged for the guards by the.Contractor at its own expense prior to <br />assignment to any City facility. <br />(h) Physical/Mental Qualifications- Guards assigned to work under this contract <br />must be mentally alert and capable of exercising good judgment, <br />implementing instructions and assimilating necessary specialized training. <br />Medical examination of guards to assure their physical fitness shall be <br />conducted at the Contractor's expense, prior to the initial request for clearance <br />and annually thereafter, <br />(i) Performance- Substandard performance of any kind will not be allowed, The <br />City reserves the right to refuse or reject any assigned guard, who, in the <br />City's belief, fails to meet the minimum requirements as set forth in this <br />Contract. <br />(j) Driver's License- Guards must possess and carry in their possession while on <br />duty a valid California Driver's License issued by the CA Department of <br />Motor Vehicles. <br />City of Santa Ana Unarmed Security Guard SeARM A Page 17 <br />
