Typically, local residential streets have no other dedicated source of revenue
besides Gas Tax. By combining residential streets under one contract, the City is able to receive
favorable pricing due to economy of scale.
The local street segments which make up this project are located in neighborhoods throughout
the city (Exhibit 1), and these segments have been identified as a high priority for rehabilitation by
the City's pavement management system. These segments have pavement which have
deteriorated due to weather, age, and weekly use by heavy refuse trucks, as well as occasional
access by other heavy trucks.
23A-1
