Their proposal was complete <br />and includes all the work required to clean and inspect sewer mains and sewer manholes. Their <br />work includes traffic control, diversion of sewage flow where needed, root cutting where required, <br />disposal of sewage -cleaning waste, and data processing to provide and meet the City's <br />requirements. <br />The bid pricing was based on cost per linear feet of sewer (300,000), and per manhole (1,000) <br />inspection. Staff recommends that Houston & Harris PCS, Inc., be retained for this project. This <br />firm is well qualified and reputable, and possesses vast experience on similar types of projects. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 Community Facilities & <br />Infrastructure, Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City <br />assets), Strategy C (invest resources and technology to extend the service life of existing <br />infrastructure to protect the City's investment and support a high quality of life standard) and <br />Strategy F (perform periodic measurements to monitor and update each asset's condition and <br />ensure adequate funding for repair and/or replacement costs for in future budgets). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds in the amount of $400,000 are budgeted and available for FY 2017/18 in the Sanitary <br />Sewer Service Fund (Account No. 05617640-62300) and will be similarly budgeted in future fiscal <br />years as follows: <br />Accounting Unit <br />Sanitary Sewer Service <br />(No. 05617640-62300) <br />FY 17-18 FY 18-19 FY 19-20 FY 20-21 FY 21-22 <br />$400,000 $400,000 $400,000 $400,000 $400,000 <br />25J-2 <br />
