AMPCO Contracting, Inc., <br />submitted the lowest responsive bid in the amount of $1,129,000, which is significantly compatible with the <br />Engineer's Estimate of $1,072,000. Based on a staff analysis of the bids received, staff recommends <br />award of a construction contract to AMPCO Contracting, Inc. (Exhibits 2 and 3). <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 - Community Facilities & Infrastructure, <br />Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City assets), Strategy C (invest <br />resources and technology to extend the service life of existing infrastructure to protect the City's <br />investment and support a high quality of life standard). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the recommended actions are exempt from <br />further review. Categorical Exemption Environmental Review No. ER #2017-46 will be filed for this project. <br />In addition, a Certification of Categorical Exemption and Statutory Worksheet have been prepared in <br />accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The estimated total delivery cost of this project is $1,411,250, which includes construction, contract <br />administration, inspection, testing, surveying, and contingencies (Exhibit 4).
