APPROVE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE SAFETY AND <br />FAIRNESS FOR EVERYONE (SAFE) CITIES NETWORK AND AN AGREEMENT <br />FOR IMMIGRATION LEGAL DEFENSE SERVICES - City Manager's Office <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTIONS: <br /> <br />1. Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute a <br />Memorandum of Understanding between the Vera Institute of Justice and the <br />City of Santa Ana, effective from the date approved by the City and ending <br />October 31, 2018, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City <br />Manager and the City Attorney (AGMT. No. 2017-XXX). <br /> <br />2. Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute an <br />agreement with Immigrant Defenders Law Center in an amount not to exceed <br />$65,000, for a one-year period beginning November 1, 2017 and ending October <br />31, 2018, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and <br />City Attorney.
