FILE NUMBER CA' <br /> CITY MANAGER pc PAD 6'2.-03j 4r19rl17 2co/1-179 <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> 1) Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $184, 224 in Urban <br /> Streams Restoration Grant funding in revenue account (account no. <br /> 171-01-5361) and appropriate funds in the Urban Streams Restoration <br /> expenditure account (account no. 171-108-6291) . <br /> 2) Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the Mayor and Clerk <br /> of the Council to execute an agreement with the Orange County <br /> Conservation Corps to remove non-native plant species and reintroduce <br /> native species at Santiago Creek for an amount not to exceed $45, 000 . <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> On April 2, 2001, the City Council approved a resolution authorizing the <br /> City to apply for the Urban Streams Restoration Grant (Proposition 13) to <br /> renovate Santiago Creek between the Santiago Bridge and the Garden Grove <br /> Freeway. The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency and Park <br /> Santiago Neighborhood Association were successful in receiving an award of <br /> $184 , 224 for this project . Over 70 grant applications were submitted <br /> statewide for this grant program and the City of Santa Ana was one of <br /> eleven agencies that received an award and the only city awarded in <br /> Southern California . <br /> Page 23 20 .A. <br />
