Buddies ) <br />Solutions for Community Sustainabilit) Flacl<-a-thou: (50 community <br />members) <br />Youth Know Social innovation Hack-a-thon cr TeenSpace Sleepover: <br />(30 participants) <br />International Programmer's Day Celebration (September 13), 2018): <br />80 participants <br />The goal of this project is to provide young adults and children with <br />CT and CS training. Youth will learn CT/CS techniques, tools and <br />careers and how to use CT/CS as a toot to pursue their own goals, be <br />they academic /carcer goals, concerns with civic engagement/social <br />justice, or just to share ideas, interests and fun with others. This <br />program will train teen services staff members in CT skills that they <br />will incorporate into their programs to introduce youth to CT /CS. <br />Teens will learn to integrate CT /CS skills into their interests. Teens <br />What is the goal(s) and objective(s) of with deeper interest in CS and Coding will be empowered to launch 2 <br />the program? How will you measure library CS clubs where they continue honing their CT/CS skills while <br />them? (up to 200 words)*, learning to engage and pass on these skills to others in their <br />community. This project will introduce 200+children and 800+teens <br />to CT/CS skills they can use throughout their academic, working and <br />personal lives. 85% of all program participants will acknowledge an <br />increased understanding of CT /CS principles/tools/careers. 80%of <br />program participants will acknowledge an increased desire to utilize <br />CT/ CS in their academic, working and personal lives to complement <br />their interests. We will measure via surveys, observations and self - <br />reports. <br />The youth that make up such a large percentage of our community are <br />faced with many challenges. 91 % of our student population is eligible <br />for free/reduced priced meals. They are experiencing the results of the <br />What need(s) in your community will enituC'al. economic, educational, and situational challenges endemic to <br />this program address? (up to 100 a poor urban immiurant community. They have grown up in a built <br />wards) out environment suffering from hi'Th population density, and at, <br />expanding and very present homeless population. Their families and <br />Community cannot afford to provide them with modern technology <br />and training.
