Vice Chair Schaefer: <br />• Commented he will provide Ms. McCann with copies of old advertisements which notes <br />the name of the northern part of Floral Park originally named North Broadway Park; <br />and the southern part of Park Santiago originally named Nobb Hill and the northern <br />section called Oakmont. <br />• Requested staff send Code Enforcement to the home previously owned by the <br />McFadden family on Greenleaf which is completely overgrown and not visible from the <br />street. <br />• Congratulated homeowners noting it says good things about our city. <br />Commissioner Murashie: <br />• Thanked homeowners for their stories and staying throughout the evening. <br />• Thanked staff for all their hard work. <br />• Welcomed Ivan Flores and thanked Ricardo Soto. <br />• Invited all to the Orange County Historical Society event with the Segerstrom Family on <br />October 12, 7:00 p.m. at 2400 North Canal Street, Orange. <br />• Invited all to the Santa Ana Historical Cemetery Tour on Saturday, October 21. <br />Commissioner Rush: <br />• Congratulated homeowners. <br />• Reminded all to attend the inaugural Preserve Orange County gala to be held on <br />November 3, 6:30 p.m. at the Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University <br />which will include a reception and is free to attendees. <br />• Noted he is doing his architectural tour of Downtown Santa Ana on November 4, 2:30 <br />p.m. and depart from the Waffle House sponsored by the Santa Ana Historical Society <br />and can purchase tickets at www.santaanahistory.com <br />• Requested staff inform applicants they will be asked to speak. <br />• Requested staff provide ample notification to the Santa Ana Historical Preservation <br />d <br />Society to salvage parts of the old McFadden Electric building. <br />• Requested prior to issuing a demolition permit for the Santa Ana Elks Lodge, to require <br />the developer, Wermer Development, to photograph the interior and exterior of the <br />building from a historical perspective which will be relocated next year. <br />Commissioner Hitterdale: <br />• Welcomed Ivan Flores and thanked staff for their hard work. <br />• Thanked and congratulated homeowners. <br />Chairperson Christy: <br />• Thanked staff for all their hard work. <br />• Thanked residents for believing in the city and their home and placing on the historic <br />register. <br />• Requested staff check with Commissioners if they would like to receive agenda packet <br />binders or receive electronically. <br />o Commission discussion ensued on the agenda packets.
