Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with <br />Vantage Company for a term of six -months beginning November 1, 2017, for a not to exceed <br />amount of $26,000 (proposal of $24,860, plus $1,140 in contingency), to modify and improve <br />the auditorium floor of the Council Chambers and surrounding dais and seating areas, subject <br />to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with <br />Interfinish Corporation for a term of six -months beginning November 1, 2017; for $8,220 to re - <br />carpet the modified surface, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City <br />Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In order to address deferred maintenance,,a plan that assessed and addressed safety, adequacy <br />and liability issues of city facilities. City Hall and adjoining structures were evaluated as priority <br />areas to improve access to public areas for all individuals, including those with disabilities (the <br />American with Disabilities Act, ADA compliance projects). <br />Last year, two ADA compliant projects were completed. Power access door assists were installed <br />at City Hall and Ross Annex main' public entrances. Additionally, a replacement wheel chair lift <br />was installed to provide reliable wheelchair access and connection to public service areas on the <br />first floors of City Hall and Ross Annex, without having to exit the building to utilize access ramps. <br />Following the completion of these projects, the next priority was to address improvements to <br />Council Chambers. <br />2513-1 <br />
