o Any holiday which falls on a Saturday shall be observed on the Friday <br />preceding the holiday. <br />9.2 Holidays - Shift Personnel and Employees on Alternate Work Schedules. <br />A. Full-time employees on a 5/40 schedule whose regularly scheduled <br />days off are other than Saturday and Sunday shall be entitled to <br />receive thirteen (13) eight-hour working days off during the year in lieu <br />of the holiday benefits specified in Section 9.1 above. Employees on a <br />9/80 or 4/10 work schedule shall be entitled to thirteen (13) holidays. <br />Holidays shall be paid in accordance with the hours scheduled for the <br />day the holiday falls on. <br />For employees on a 9/80 schedule: <br />If a holiday falls on a regularly -scheduled nine (9) hour workday <br />(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday), nine (9) hours of holiday <br />time shall be paid. <br />If a holiday falls on a regularly -scheduled eight (8) hour workday <br />(Friday), eight (8) hours of holiday time shall be paid. <br />If a holiday falls on an employee's regularly -scheduled day off work, <br />the employee shall receive credit for nine (9) hours of holiday time to <br />be used in accordance with Section 9.2 (B) or 9.6 below. <br />For employees on a 4/10 schedule: <br />If the holiday falls on a regularly -scheduled ten (10) hourworkday, ten <br />(10) hours of holiday time shall be paid. <br />If a holiday falls on an employee's regularly -scheduled day off work, <br />the employees shall receive credit forten (10) hours of holidaytime to <br />be used in accordance with Section 9.2 (B) or 9.6 below. <br />B. Substitute holidays may be scheduled by the Department Head or his <br />or her designee, normally during the same month that the holiday is <br />observed by other City employees.
