9.3 Modified Holiday Schedule- Employees Assigned to the Library. Employees <br />assigned to the Library shall, during the term of this MOU, observe holidays on <br />the dates specified in Section 9.1 above. <br />9.4 A newly appointed employee must actually work at least one (1) day <br />preceding the day a holiday listed in Section 9.1 actually occurs in order to <br />receive credit for such holiday during the month in which it occurs. <br />An employee separating from the service of the City must actually work at <br />least one (1) day following the day a holiday listed in Section 9.1 actually <br />occurs in order to receive compensation for the holiday. <br />A newly appointed employee must complete six (6) months of continuous <br />full-time service or part-time civil service in order to receive credit for the <br />Floating Holiday listed in Section 9.1 above. <br />9.5 Floating Holiday time off may be taken in half hour increments. <br />9.6 If a holiday falls on an employee's Friday off, the employee must then take <br />their holiday time off on the day before or after the regular scheduled <br />holiday with supervisor and Department Head approval. If the employee <br />cannot take their holiday off before or after the regular scheduled holiday <br />off, the employee shall bank the hours of his or her regular workday (nine or <br />ten hours) as holiday leave to be used at a later date with the supervisor's <br />approval. <br />9.7 Holiday benefits may not be carried over from one (1) calendar year to the <br />next. <br />A. Employees will be allowed to carry over from 2017 to 2018 the one <br />additional Floating Holiday authorized under this agreement.
