ARTICLE VI <br />6.0 EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM <br />6.1 Members of the Association maybe paid.an Educational lncentive allowance in the amounts <br />and in accordance with the criteria set forth below. Effective January 1, 2018, employees <br />wishing to participate in any of the programs -designated herein shall submit a request to his <br />or her bureau commander, who will then make a recommendation to the Police Chief. Final <br />approval will be at the discretion of the Police Chief, based on the needs of the Department <br />and program benefits. In no event shall the application of this Educational Incentive program <br />.result in an employee being eligible to earn more than ten percent (10%) above his or her <br />then current base monthly salary step. <br />A. FBI National Academy. Any employee covered by this MOU who successfully <br />completes the FBI National. Academy shall be paid at a rate set ten (10) salary rate <br />ranges (approximately 5%) above his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br />B. California Command College. Any employee: covered 'by this MOO who <br />successfully completes the California Command College shall be paid at a rate set ten <br />(10) salary rate ranges,(approximately 5%) above his or her then current base <br />monthly salary step. <br />C. LAPD Leadership Program. Any employee covered by this MOU who successfully <br />completes: the LAPD Leadership Program shall be paid at a rate set five (5) salary <br />rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) above his or.her then current base monthly salary <br />step. <br />Any employee covered by this MOU who successfully completes the Senior <br />Management Institute for Police shall be paid.at a rate set five (5) salary rate ranges <br />(approximately 2.5%) above his or her then current. ase monthly salary step. <br />E. FBI National AcadM (LEEDS Program). Any employee covered by this MOU <br />who successfully completes the FBI LEEDS Program shall be paid at a rate set five <br />(5) salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) above his or her then, current base <br />monthly salary step. <br />F. International Association of Chiefs of Police. Any employee covered by this MOU <br />who successfully completes the Leadership in.Police Organizations Program shall be <br />paid at a rate set five (5) salary rate ranges (approximately 2.5%) above his or her <br />then current base monthly salary step. <br />13 <br />251-15 <br />
