receive payment for any vacation until he or she has completed six (6) months <br />of continuous service. <br />C. On or after the first (1st) day of the month following completion of six (6) <br />months of continuous Part Time Civil Service, an employee may be allowed to <br />take all, or a proportionate fraction of, his or her earned vacation, subject to <br />scheduling approval of the employee's supervisor. <br />D. Limit: The maximum total accrual of vacation leave with pay shall be equal to <br />two years of earned vacation. Vacation time off may be taken in increments as <br />small as one-half (1/z) hour with fractional usage rounded upward to the next <br />higher multiple of one-half (1/2). <br />E. Computation of Regular Vacation <br />I. Should an employee be confined to a hospital for sickness or injury while <br />on authorized vacation, each full day of such confinement, when confirmed <br />by a physician's statement and approval of the Executive Director, may be <br />deducted from the computation of vacation expended and charged against <br />the employee's accumulated sick leave. <br />2. The time at which an employee shall take his or her vacation shall be <br />determined by the Executive Director, with due regard for the wishes of the <br />employee.and particular regard for operational needs. <br />9.3 Excess Usage. If vacation time off is used in excess of that available, such excess <br />vacation time off will, first, be deducted from any available compensatory time off <br />accrual; finally, deducted from the next scheduled salary payment. <br />9.4 Effect of Extended Sick Leave on Vacation Accrual Absence on sick leave or <br />unpaid leave for a period in excess of fifteen (15) consecutive calendar days shall <br />not be considered as service time for regular vacation accrual purposes. <br />9.5 Vacation Buy -Back. Employees covered by this agreement are eligible to.require <br />the City to buy-back up to thirty six (36) hours of their accrued vacation per <br />calendar year. <br />9.6 Impact of Promotion or Transfer In the event a unit employee accepts another City <br />position outside of the bargaining unit, their length of service in the Part Time <br />Civil Service' unit will be used in determining eligibility for vacation accrual. <br />Length of service in the Part Time Civil Service unit will be calculated at .75 per <br />each year of full time service. <br />24 <br />25K-26 <br />
