City of Santa Ana, California <br />Section 3. Scope of Requested Collection Services <br />1. Solid Waste Collection <br />Contractor will provide bins and compactors for collection of solid waste. Customers will <br />have the opportunity to subscribe to the appropriate service level. Collection frequency <br />will be at least once per week and up to six (6) times per week. Roll -off box service will <br />be made available in containers sizes including 10, 20 and 40 cubic yards. Roll -off boxes <br />and compactors, as provided by Contractor or by Customer, will be serviced as needed. <br />Customers and Contractor will determine a mutually acceptable collection location. <br />2. Recyclable Materials Collection <br />Proposer will propose a Recyclable Materials Collection program designed to achieve <br />the City's goals. Contractor will be required to offer recycling services to all MFD <br />Customers and provide such services upon request. Contractor will provide bins and roll- <br />off boxes for collection of recyclable materials. In order to prevent the contamination of <br />recyclables, the contractor will provide "restricted access" lids for recycling collection <br />containers, as needed. Customers will pay a separate fee in accordance with the <br />established rates, which shall be less than the established rate for the comparable level <br />of solid waste service. <br />3. Yard Waste Recycling Collection <br />Contractor will provide bins for collection of Yard Waste. Customers will have the <br />opportunity to subscribe to the appropriate service level. Collection frequency will be at <br />least once (1) per week and up to seven (7) times per week. Customers will pay a <br />separate fee for yard waste collection based on their service level in accordance with <br />the established rates. Customers will pay a separate fee in accordance with the <br />established rates, which shall be less than the established rate for the comparable level <br />of solid waste service. <br />4. On -Call Bulky Item Collection <br />Contractor will provide on-call collection of bulky items from MFD customers using a <br />method suitable for the MFD complex and agreed upon by the Customer or property <br />manager. <br />Contractor will provide on-call collection of bulky waste to MFD's scheduling the service <br />with Contractor with 48 hours' notice. Customers may place up to five items out for <br />collection per pick-up. Items will be collected on the Customer's regular collection day. <br />Contractor will be required to separate and recycle all commodities that can be feasibly <br />recovered. Customers will pay a separate fee in accordance with the established rates. <br />5. Household Hazardous Waste Collection <br />Proposer will commit to providing Household Hazardous Waste events each year <br />allowing residents to deliver their waste to a collection site for proper disposal by <br />Contractor. Contractor will coordinate with the City regarding location and date of the <br />events. Event outreach will meet all contractual outreach and education requirements. <br />Acceptable items are provided as Attachment 12. <br />3.2.3 Commercial Collection Services Arrangements <br />Commercial customers include all retail, professional, office, wholesale and industrial facilities, <br />other commercial enterprises offering goods or services to the public; organizations; and <br />agencies other than City agencies.
