MOU with Orange County Workforce Innovation High School <br />February 20, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />The Director of the Orange County Workforce Innovation High School approached staff, <br />introduced their programs and services and requested entering into a MOU to serve young people <br />who have not completed a high school diploma. The Orange County Workforce Innovation High <br />School's engages student's ages 14-19 years of age who are no longer enrolled in a traditional <br />education program to prepare students for work or college readiness through their integrated <br />personalized coursework that will lead to a high school diploma by offering flexible schedules and <br />one-on-one attention. This program is co -located with the Santa Ana Boys and Girls Club located <br />at 950 Highland Street, Santa Ana. <br />The primary intention of the MOU is for the WORK Center and its sub -contractors to have a <br />partner relationship with a provider that can help young people who have dropped out or aged out <br />of a traditional high school program earn their high school diploma. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item support's the City's effort to meet Goal # 2 Youth, Education, Recreation, <br />Objective #4 Partner with groups and organizations to promote education, senior services, job <br />training and development for all Santa Ana residents. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. <br />R bert M.
