They have gone into the neighborhoods. I live at the
corner home off Edinger and Olive St. And for the past week, there is now a
small encampment of 4-6 homeless people right across the street from my
home, and next to someone's house. Today as my husband, and I were
cleaning, and organizing our garage, a homeless lady came up to our home,
and asked for help. My 17 month, and 4 year old daughters were with us. I do
not want to be walking out of my door, and looking on to an encampment of
people. I don't want homeless people approaching my house, my family, or
me. This is unacceptable, the fact that I don't feel comfortable in my own
home. We own our home, and pay taxes, so it's not as easy to pick up and
leave. I am sure if there was an encampment in front of the mayor's home, or
city council member, this would not be accepted. They would be moved.
Please take a hard look where these people are ending up when they are
cleared from civic center. This encampment is on Edinger and Flower, under a
tree, next to the 711, where the recycling center is at.
Thank you,
Jennifer Duran
Sent from my iPhone
I
