I have no political agenda other than I to deny the 3 Council members who <br />are termed out the ability to play political games with Ward boundary <br />changes for their own political self-interest. Information about the criteria for redistricting may <br />be helpful in this discussion. <br />Those opposed to a vote on redistricting before a vote on citywide vs. district <br />elections have a political agenda as robust as those those desiring redistricting. <br />This is a indeed a political matter for both sides. <br />Both sides have clear reasons for their positions. In brief, one side views the <br />power base of Mayor Pulido as sufficiently corrupt to warrant action to overturn <br />him. The other side worries about losing power and the changes from a new <br />administration. <br />For me, I fear consolidated power and corruption more than change. I worry more <br />about the Mayor's self-interest and its impact on the city then change from a new <br />administration. At least with change there exist new opportunities for community <br />involvement then is offered by the current administration. . <br />The old political regime of Miguel Pulido should die off. It must if die off if the <br />the city hopes to grow beyond the strangle -hold Pulido has over it. If we seek at <br />least the possibility for a more open and transparent government, business <br />
