<br /> Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 17 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />April 7, 2026 <br />TOPIC: Purchase Order Contracts for Equipment Rentals and Related Products and <br />Services <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Aggregate Purchase Order Contracts to Herc Rentals, Inc., Sunbelt Rentals, and United <br />Rentals for Equipment Rentals and Related Products and Services (Specification No. <br />26-014) (General Fund & Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award aggregate purchase order contracts to Herc Rentals, Inc., Sunbelt Rentals, and <br />United Rentals for equipment rentals and related products and services on an as- <br />needed basis, in a total aggregate amount not to exceed $720,000, for a term beginning <br />April 7, 2026 and expiring October 31, 2027. <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: No <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency (PWA) oversees and maintains the daily operations of the <br />City’s water and sanitary sewer systems and their associated facilities, and oversees <br />the maintenance and improvements of all City parks and building facilities. PWA utilizes <br />equipment rental services to provide an efficient means of acquiring special equipment <br />on an as-needed temporary basis to support specific operations and special projects. <br />Additionally, the Santa Ana Police Department use equipment rental services to assist <br />the Police Department’s Cannabis Enforcement team for various cases, as needed. <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code, Section 2-807(d), authorizes the City to purchase against <br />contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid process. The City of <br />Charlotte contract no. 2019000318 with Herc Rentals Inc. for equipment rentals and <br />related products and services (Exhibit 1), the OMNIA Partners contract no. R241502 <br />with Sunbelt Rentals for equipment and tool rental services (Exhibit 2), and the <br />Sourcewell contract no. 040924-URI with United Rentals for rental equipment (Exhibit 3) <br />were all awarded as a result of open, competitive bidding, and meet the City’s <br />requirements. <br /> <br />
