13-0017 <br />Investigator: MIKE GINTHER Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 07/31/13 Date: 09/09/2013 <br />Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CASE NAME: ARELLANO, HANS KEVIN <br />CLASSIFICATION: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING (FATAL) <br />TYPE: CANVASS <br />AGENCY: SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at approximately 1530 hours, Orange County District Attorney <br />Supervising Investigator MARK GUTIERREZ contacted me regarding an officer involved shooting, <br />involving the Santa Ana Police Department. GUTIERREZ requested I respond to the 600 block of South <br />Harbor Boulevard, in the City of Santa Ana. GUTIERREZ told me that the officer involved shooting at that <br />location was a fatal shooting incident. <br /> I arrived at the location at approximately 1555 hours. At the shooting incident scene, I met with <br />investigators from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and investigators from the Santa Ana <br />Police Department (SAPD) and Orange County Sheriff/Coroner, who were present to assist in the <br />investigation. <br /> At 1631 hours, SAPD Acting Sergeant OLIVER GRANT conducted a briefing of the known <br />circumstances surrounding the incident for the personnel involved in the investigation. <br /> Following the briefing, Orange County District Attorney Supervising Investigator GUTIERREZ <br />assigned me to conduct a canvass and interview potential witnesses in the business complex where the <br />shooting incident had taken place. The scene had been secured by members of the Santa Ana Police <br />Department.
