ORDINANCE NS-1006 ADOPTING BY REFERENCE CERTAIN <br />CODES K~OWN AS THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1967 EDITION, <br />VOLUME I; UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1967 EDITION, STANDARDS; <br />INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL <br />OFFICIALS UNIFORM PLUMBING C~DE; UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, <br />1967 EDITION, VOLUME V, STGNS,~ ~NATIONAL ELECTRICAL <br />CODE, 1968; UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, VOLUME III - HOUSING; <br />AND THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1967 EDITION; REPEALING <br />AND READOPTING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE <br />SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO AMEND AND ADD TO THE CODES <br />HEREBY ADOPTED <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by amending certain portions of Chapter 8 thereof to effect <br />the adoption by reference the Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, <br />volume I; Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, Standards; Inter- <br />national Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials Uniform <br />Plumbing Code; Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, Volume V, Signs; <br />National Electrical Code, 1968; u~tfo~m BU~dt~g C~, Volume III <br />- Housing; and the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1967 Edition; Repealing <br />and readopting certain portions of Chapter 8 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code to amend and add to the codes hereby adopted. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That Section 8-100 of the Santa Aha Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-100. Application Processing and Plan Checking Fees. <br /> Section 303(b) of the Building Code, 1967 Edition, is amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Application processing and plan checking fees: Prior to <br />issuing a building permit, an application processing and plan <br />checking fee equal to one-half of the building permit fee <br />shall be paid to the building official. When a building <br />permit is not issued within 90 days of the application for a <br />permit, such fee shall be paid upon demand from the Building <br />Official. <br /> EXCEPTION: When multiple plans for residences or apart- <br />ments are submitted at one time, such fee shall be paid only <br />for each different floor plan plus $5.00 for each repetition <br />of the same floor plan. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: That Section 8-120 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-120. Court Walls. <br /> The first paragraph of Section 504(c) of the Building Code, <br />1967 Edition, is amended to read as follows: <br /> (c) Buildings on same property and buildings containing courts. <br /> For the purpose of determining the required wall and <br /> opening protection, buildings ~n~the same property and <br /> court walls of buildings over one story in height shall <br /> be assumed to have a property line between them. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4: That Section 8-128 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br /> <br />is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 8-128. Automatic Fire-extin~uishinq Systems. <br /> <br /> That Section 506(c) of the Building Code, 1967 <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> (c) <br /> <br />Edition, is <br /> <br />Automatic Fire-extinguishing Systems. The area specified <br />in Section 505 may be tripled in one-story buildings and <br />doubled in buildings of more than one story if the building <br />is provided with an approved automatic fire-ext%~guishing <br />system throughout.
