250 <br /> <br /> ORDINANSE NO. 1111 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION, REGULATION <br /> AND CONTROL OF THE USE OF PAR~ING NETERS <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION l: That all streets included within such portions of the City <br /> of Santa Ana as may now be or may hereafter be specified by resolution of this <br /> Council as being in Central Traffic District "A" are hereby declared to be <br /> Parking Meter Zones, and in the event parking meters are established as herein <br /> provided along the curb adjacent to any parking space in such zones, the provision <br /> of this ordinance shall govern parking in such parking space, provided however, <br /> that in the event no parking meters are installed in any parking space within <br /> said T~aFfic District "A" then the maximum time for parking in any space shall <br /> be one hour in any parking space. Central Traffic District "A" aa hereinafter <br /> referred to is such traffic district as prescribed by resolution of this Council <br /> pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 1050 of the City of Santa Ana or any <br /> ordinance amendatory thereof. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: Parking meters may be installed in all or any part of parking <br />meter zones. Each parking meter shall be of such type as to display a signal <br />showing legal parking upon the ~deposit therein of one or more one-cent or five-cen' <br />coins of the United States, for the part of the street upon which said meter is <br />placed; each meter shall by its device provide 12 minutes' parking upon the <br />deposit of one cent; 24 minutes' parking upon the deposit of 2 cents; 56 minutes' <br />parking upon the deposit of 5 cents; 48 minutes, parking upon the deposit of <br />4 cents; and one hour parking upon the deposit of one nickel, and shall be so <br />arranged that upon the expiration of said parking times, it will indicate by <br />mechanical operation and the showing of a proper signal that the lawful parking <br />period has expired. Said meters shall be placed upon the curb along side of <br />and next to parking spaces. Such parking spaces shall be of sufficient size to <br />accommodate an automobile and shall indicate parallel or diagonal parking by <br />painted lines on the pavement. It is provided however, that on any curb adjacent <br />to any parkXng space which has been painted green as provided in Ordinance No. <br />1050 that such parking meters may be limited to the deposit of one or two coins <br />of one cent value so that the maximum parking time adjacent to said curbings <br />painted green may be limited to 24 minutes and the parking meters may be adjusted <br />or installed accordingly. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5: Whenever any vehicle shall be parked in any space along side <br />or next to which there is located, under this ordinance, a parking meter, the <br />owner, operator, manager or driver of said vehicle shall upon entering said space <br />immediately deposit the proper coin of the United States in said meter and said <br />parking space may then be used by such vehicle during the parking limit provided <br />for the coin deposited. All parking shall be between the lines of a parking <br />space, <br /> <br /> SECTION 4: The parking limit in any space by said parking meter shall <br />be 12 minutes for one cent, 24 minutes for two cents, 56 minutes for three cents, <br />48 minutes for four cents, and 60 minutes for one nickel. .It shall be unlawful <br />for any person to park in any one space for a longer period than the parking limit <br /> <br />herein provided. <br /> <br /> <br />
