Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., <br /> A.A.Hall~ J. Ogden Markel <br />Absent: Councilmen Dale H. Reinly <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br />Invocation was given by Reverend Don Jordan of the First United <br />Presbyterian Church. <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes <br />of August 18, 1958, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />on motion of Counc~lma~ Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried. <br /> <br /> A tabulation of bids was presented for the blacktopping of walks and all purpose <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />Black top walks <br />and all purpose <br />Court for Adams <br />Park ~ ~ <br /> <br />court in Adams Park, per Specification No. 691-10, as follows: <br /> Total <br /> ~11y-Miller Contracting Co. $ 3,3-~.00 <br /> Hardy and Harper 3,854.00 <br /> Griffith Co. 3,843.00 <br /> R.J.Noble Co. 3, 360.00 <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br /> <br />Hall and carried, the low bid of S~,~ ~ y-Miller Contracting Co., in the st~ of <br /> <br />Bids <br />Construct West Ditch <br />between Edinger Street <br />and Monta Vista <br /> <br />$3,345.00 was accepted and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented for the construction of West Ditch between Edinger <br /> <br />Street and Monta Vista, Project No. 29, as follows: <br /> Total <br /> C.R.Butterfield $1I~,~8.00 <br /> A B C Construction ~f California 118,338.00 <br /> A .H.Famularo 121,191 · 32 <br /> <br />10% bond <br />10% bond <br />10% bond <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br /> <br />Gould and carried, all bids were rejected and the work to be held in abeyance until <br /> <br /> Hearing <br />Vacate portion of <br />N. Birch St. between <br />6th and 8th Streets <br />Reso. No. 58-218 <br /> <br />such time as the Project is re-engineered and re-submitted at a later date. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on the vacation of a portion of North Birch <br />Street lying between Sixth Street and Eighth Street and no protests having been <br />received, on motion of Council~u Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the hearing <br />was closed. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br /> <br />on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following <br /> <br />Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 58-218 ordering the vacation of a portion of North <br />Birch Street lying betw~en Sixth Street and Eighth Street" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Hearing <br />A.D.No. 201 <br />Modifications in <br />proceedings - improve- <br />ment of Main Street <br />Reso. The Council having unanimously <br />waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilma~ Hubbard, seconded by <br /> <br />Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Amend. Appl. 256 <br />Phillip Bernstein <br />South side Fifth Street <br />Ordinance <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 58-219 of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana ordering <br /> certain modifications in those proceedings for the improvement of Main Street <br /> instituted pursuant to Resolution No. 58-ll8" <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Heinly <br /> <br />This bein~ the date set for hearing and no protests having been received, Amendment <br /> <br />Application No. 256 filed by Phillip Bernstein, wss considered to reclassify from R-~ <br /> <br />District to M-1 District, property situated on the south side of Fifth Street, <br /> <br />beginning at a point approximately 400 feet east of the east line of the Santa Aha <br /> <br />River, with a frontage of 324.56 feet on Fifth Street and a depth of 706.60 feet. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following <br />Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> <br />
