<br />This being the date set for hearing on the amendment of and addition to the
<br />
<br />District Multiple-Family Residence, Section 9107, Article IX of the Municipal Code,
<br />on motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by ~al ] and carried, the matter was
<br />referred back to the Planning Commission for further consideration.
<br />
<br />Commm~uication was read from Ram Investment Company ngreeing to the conditions
<br />recommended by the Planning Department to be incorporated on the Final Map of Tract
<br />No. 2437. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Tentative
<br />Tract Map No. 2437 on property bounded on the east by the Southern Pacific Railroad,
<br />on the west by a line approx~m~.tely 150 feet east of Standard Avenue, on the south
<br />by McFadden Street and on the north by a line approximately llll feet north of
<br />McFadden Street, consisting of forty lots, was approved subject to conditions.

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Map of Tract No.
<br />
<br />2235 filed by Park Homes, a partnership, on 23 lots located on Center Street and
<br />Borchard Avenue, and bond in the amount of $17,500.00 were approved, license tax in
<br />the sum of $1,150.00 accepted and agreement covering improvements was ordered signed.
<br />On motion of Councilmau Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the recomm~ndation
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and the Variance Application No. 1019 of
<br />Romeric Builders, Inc., granted to permit the erection of a 10' x 20' temporary sign
<br />on property situated at the northeast corner of Washington Place and Grand Avenue,
<br />in an R-1 District, to direct prospective purchasers to tract located on Stafford
<br />Street, near the Freeway on the south, subject to conditions.

<br />On motion of Councilm~u Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the recommendation
<br />
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 1020 of Romeric
<br />Builders, Inc., granted to permit the erection of a lC' x 20' temporary directional
<br />sign on property situated on Lot 238, Tract 26~8 on the west side of Stafford Street,
<br />fourth lot south of Grace Street, to advertise sale of homes in said tract, subject
<br />

<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 102~ of Ernest
<br />H. and Lottie N. Layton granted to permit the use of the 22' x 30' garage to be used
<br />for storage of materi~ls and portion of the lot, measured from the westerly property
<br />line, easterly to a depth of 50', to be used for off-street parking of vehicles, on
<br />property located at 1~66 Cypress Avenue, in an R-2 District, to acc~odate Layton
<br />Sof-Water Company and Dickson Appliances, located on South Main Street, contiguous
<br />
<br />to subject property, subject to conditions.

<br />Communication was read from the Planning Com~ission submitting without recommendation
<br />
<br />Variance Application No. 1024 of John D. Huston to repair small electrical house-
<br />hold appliances, such as hair clippers, mixers, shavers, toasters, etc., in existing
<br />double garage located on rearportion of the property at 220 West St. Gertrude Place,
<br />in an R-1 District. Attorney George Bradley, on behalf of the applicant, spoke in
<br />favor of the Variance. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the
<br />Resolution, on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the fol-
<br />lowing Resolution entitled:

<br />
<br />for a period of one y~ar and subject to condition pernLitting a sign not to exceed
<br />24~ x 18" to be placed on the north side of the garage, was considered and passed
