NO. 04-020) <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />{2¡2;a <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to Wondries Fleet Group for the purchase of two <br />midsize extended cab pickup trucks in the amount not to exceed $33,035; <br />and establish an additional $5,000 on the annual blanket contract for <br />. miscellaneous vehicle parts. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program <br />is included in the City's annual budget,. and identifies vehicles <br />scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation <br />schedule established with each department. <br /> <br />Various City agencies utilize midsize pickup trucks to perform routine <br />business. The Treasury and Customer Service Division of the Finance <br />and Management Services Agency utilizes pickup trucks for the water <br />meter reading routes. The Public Work Agency's Maintenance and <br />Sanitation Inspection Division uses pickup trucks for parking control, <br />preceding the street sweepers 011 City roadways. Due to age, mileage <br />and condition, one 1995 S-10 pickup truck has been budgeted and <br />approved for replacement in the current fiscal year. A second 8-10 <br />pickup truck is a model year 2000 and in need of replacement due to a <br />collision, rendering it inoperable. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />22F-1 <br />
