Award a contract to 4-Con Engineering, Inc., the lowest responsible <br />. bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$1,274,672 for construction of Dan Young Youth Soccer Field at <br />Centennial Park. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $1,593,300. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />This project involves the construction of a new soccer field at the Dan <br />Young Soccer Complex within the Centennial Regional Park (Exhibit 1). <br />Construction includes installation of synthetic turf, a drainage system <br />underneath the soccer field and sport lights: In addition, the project <br />includes construction of an asphalt bike trail that connects the Santa <br />Ana River trail to Centennial Road. Once completed, the project will <br />enhance the Dan Young Soccer Complex at the Centennial Park and reduce <br />maintenance costs for the turf. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February 3 and 4, 2004 and <br />bids were opened on February 27, 2004.
