Last year over <br />270,000 people attended the event. This year, the City received several <br />permit applications from a number of "downtown" Santa Ana community groups <br />to sponsor the event. City staff has been working with these groups to <br />help facilitate consensus as to sponsorship of the event. Despite a <br />common desire to have this year's event go forward, the downtown business <br />community was unable to reach agreement regarding the lead sponsor <br />organization. <br /> <br />In recognizing the great value of this event for the downtown business <br />communi ty and the surrounding neighborhoods and wi th only seven weeks <br />remaining before the event weekend, City staff is recommending that the <br />City host the Fiestas patrias Event this year and secure the services of <br />All Access Entertainment to act as the Event Manager. All Access <br />Entertainment will be responsible to provide all the necessary equipment, <br />stages, electricity, carnival rides, vendor booths, and insurance for the <br />event. All Access Entertainment has provided exceptional event management <br />services regarding this event for the last three years. <br /> <br />25D <br />
