Award a contract to M.G. Construction, the lowest responsible bidder, <br />in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$344, 104 for construction of Poinsettia Street, Washington Avenue, <br />and Santiago Street Sewer Improvements. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $461,400. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The existing sewer mains on Poinsettia Street, Washington Avenue, and <br />Santiago Street were built in the 1920's (Exhibit 1). These sewer mains <br />have exceeded their expected life and are deteriorated and undersized. <br />This proj ect will provide for installation of sewer mains, laterals, <br />manholes, and cleanouts. Once completed, the project will increase the <br />capacity of the sewer system as well as eliminate the maintenance <br />problems associated with older and deteriorated sewer mains. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on November 3 and 5, 2004 and <br />bids were opened on December 21, 2004.
