<br />~ <br /> <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON <br />TECHNOLOGY <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />July 17, 2003 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting convened at 5:35 p.m. in Room 831, City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza, <br />Santa Ana, California <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br /> <br />City Council Committee members present: Claudia Alvarez and Lisa Bist <br /> <br />Staff members present: Debra Kurita, Assistant City Manager; Joe Fletcher, City <br />Attorney; Tom Gergen, Information Systems Manager; Pat Healy, Clerk of the Council; <br />Gerardo Mouet, Assistant Director, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency; <br />Jenny Rios, Recreation Superintendent and Virginia Adame, Sr. Recreation Supervisor, <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency; Mike Lewellen, Manager, <br />Computer Services, Santa Ana Police Department; and, Alma Flores, Senior <br />~ Management Assistant, City Manager's Office <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes for Meeting of June 11, 2003 (Alvarez, Bist) <br /> <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency Technology Update <br /> <br />Gerardo Mouet, Jenny Rios and Virginia Adame updated Committee members <br />relative to the Logan Technology Center, the Santa Ana Technology Consortium, <br />the Hope Worldwide Computer Genius Program, and the McFadden technology <br />and Learning Center. <br /> <br />Loaan Technoloav Center <br />. Computer lab with six PC's used by the public <br />. Youth participants use computers for homework and school projects with <br />staff assistance <br />. Services for youth are provided Monday through Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 <br />p.m. <br />. Adult evening computer class opportunities are being explored with <br />partnership help from Santa Ana college, UCI, CSUF and Santa Ana <br />Library <br /> <br />~ <br />
