RESOLUTION NO. 2015 -005 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AMENDING, REESTABLISHING AND <br />DELINEATING THE BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND <br />COMPENSATION PLAN FOR ALL FULL TIME AND PART <br />TIME CLASSIFICATIONS OF EMPLOYMENT, EXCEPTING <br />EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT, AND RESCINDING <br />RESOLUTION NOS. 82 -110 AND 96 -095. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations <br />and the approval of the City Council. <br />B. On August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 82 -110, revising and re- establishing the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Ana. <br />C. On November 18, 1996, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 96 -095, establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan <br />for classes of employment designated as unrepresented Administrative <br />Management (AM). <br />D. The City Council has amended Resolution Nos. 82 -110 and 96 -095 on <br />numerous occasions since their adoption. <br />E. In an effort to delete obsolete language, clarify, simplify and delineate the <br />Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for all represented full -time <br />employees, and all represented and non - represented part -time <br />employees, the City Attorney recommends reestablishing the Basic <br />Classification and Compensation Plan through this Resolution, and <br />rescinding Resolution Nos. 82 -110 and 96 -095. <br />F. The City of Santa Ana's Position classification and Pay Plan for all full - <br />time and part -time classifications of employment, is attached hereto as <br />Exhibits "A" through "H ", and is made a part hereof, excepting Executive <br />Management classifications which are maintained through separate <br />Resolution. <br />Resolution No. 2015 -005 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
