Unapproved Minutes <br /> City of Santa Ana <br /> 20 Civic Center Plaza <br /> Ross Annex <br /> Santa Ana, California 92701 <br /> MINUTES <br /> Santa Ana Unified School District / City of Santa Ana Council <br /> Special Joint Policy Meeting <br /> July 11, 2016 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting was called to order at 5: 43 p.m. by City of Santa Ana Councilmember <br /> Sal Tinajero. <br /> SAUSD Board members present were Mr. John Palacio and Ms. Cecilia Iglesias. <br /> SAUSD staff members present were Dr. Miller, Superintendent of Schools; Mr. <br /> Williams, Assistant Superintendent, Facilities and Governmental Relations; Dr. <br /> David Haglund; and Suzie Lopez-Guerra, Director of Community Relations. <br /> City Council members present were Mr. Sal Tinajero, Mr. Roman Reyna and Ms. <br /> Angi Amezcua. City staff members present: David Cavazos, City Manager; Gerardo <br /> Mouet, PRCSA Executive Director; Ron Ono, Administrative Services Manager; Jeannie <br /> Jurado, Community Services Manager; John Funk, Deputy City Attorney; Hiram Uribe, <br /> Graphic Aide; Yasmin Vasquez, Executive Assistant; Julie Castro-Cardenas, Senior <br /> Management Assistant; Jorge Garcia, Senior Management Assistant; Robert Cortez, <br /> Special Assistant to the City Manager; Chief Rojas, City of Santa Ana Police; Nabil <br /> Saba, Water Resources Manager; Lynn Nguyen, Principal Librarian. <br /> 1.0 Approval of Minutes of the March 28, 2016 District/City Minutes <br /> Moved by Councilmember Reyna and seconded by Councilmember Amezcua to approve <br /> Minutes of March 28, 2016. <br /> 2 .0 Graduation Fee Waivers <br /> Rick Miller indicated graduation at Centennial went well. Received one <br /> invoice for $1, 700. <br /> Sal Tinajero indicated SAUSD held a successful Event at Centennial Park. <br /> Needed to know up front on the correct cost for graduation so we can work <br /> together. City could have done more. We are partners . <br /> Chief Rojas indicated SAPD provided an upfront cost of $10, 000 and reduced it <br /> by 40 percent. <br /> City Manager indicated the City will absorb the $6, 000 balance. <br /> 3.0 Davis Water Tower Lease Expiration, next steps and resolution, etc. <br /> Rick Miller indicated the City has a 99 year lease on the water tower <br /> property that will be expiring. The City needs to submit a letter requesting <br /> 1 <br />
