ProJect No. D-3E85-06
Christ Our Savior Catholic Parish
Construction Veritication Procedures
Installation of driven piles and monitoring of sound and vibrations should be done under
the observation and documentation of a representative of the project Geotechnical
Engineer. This would help veri$ pile capacities and help avoid vibration and noise levels
harmful to close by structures.
Geotechnical Engineer means a representative of the consultant company of record,
including but not limited to the licensed geotechnical engineer, certified engineering
geologist, and field technician supervised by and reporting to licensed professionals, as
applicable to items to be verified.
Option II. Cast in-situ 18" or 24" Concrete Caissons
A new Sanctuary building may be supported by casrin situ concrete caissons with either
l8 inches or 24-inches in diameter but because of existence of the shallow groundwater
and the system may be costly and thus this recommendation of Option II is not
considered.
Option III. Soil Improvement by Pre-Loading Method
Pre-loading is a method to provide loads by piles of earth and monitor settlement. Based
on our preliminary assessment, static settlement is more than 5 inches and worst case
seismic settlement of more than 3 inches it may require 4.5 years to complete 90olo
settlement and continues further with the secondary settlement.
This method may not be a viable solution since it will require time
B.
