CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: XX-XXXX <br />PROJECT TITLE <br /> <br />117 <br />E. ADJUSTMENT OF SYSTEM <br />1. The Contractor shall flush and adjust all sprinkler heads for optimum performance <br />and to prevent over-spray onto roadways as much as possible. <br />2. If it is determined that adjustments in the irrigation equipment will provide proper <br />and more adequate coverage, the Contractor shall make such adjustments prior to <br />planting. Adjustments may also include changes in nozzle sizes and degrees of <br />arc as required. <br />3. Remote control valves shall be adjusted so that most remote sprinkler heads <br />operate at the pressure recommended by the head manufacturer. Remote control <br />valves shall be adjusted so a uniform distribution of water is applied by the <br />sprinkler heads to the planting areas for each individual valve system. <br />F. QUICK COUPLING VALVES <br />Quick coupling valves so indicated to be installed adjacent to curbs and paving shall <br />be within a six (6) inch maximum of same. <br />G. VALVE BOXES <br />1. Concrete valve boxes shall be set one (1) inch above the designated finish grade <br />in lawn areas. Where dimensions permit, up to two (2) remote control valves may <br />be installed in each box. <br />2. Valve boxes located near curbs and paving shall be installed in such a way as to <br />allow for valve boxes to abut those items with top surface matching plane as items <br />listed above. <br />H. AUTOMATIC CONTROLLER LOCATION AND INSTALLATION <br />1. Automatic controllers shall be installed at locations shown on plans. All pedestal- <br />mounted controller shall be mounted on a suitable concrete base. <br />2. All controller locations are essentially diagrammatic, and shall be specifically <br />located by the Engineer. <br />I. TRENCHING <br />1. Dig trenches straight and support pipe continuously on bottom of ditch. Lay pipe <br />to an even grade. Trenching excavation shall follow layout indicated on drawings <br />and as noted. <br />2. Provide minimum cover of twenty-four (24) inches for all pressure supply lines. <br />3.
