CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: XX-XXXX <br />PROJECT TITLE <br /> <br />201 <br />8.05 REINFORCED CONCRETE BOX STORM DRAIN <br />Cast-in-place concrete shall conform to the provisions of Section 201 and Section 303-1 <br />of the Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions. <br />PCC for the concrete box shall be Class 565-C-3250P. <br />Testing of the concrete shall be done in accordance with Section 201-1.1.4 of the <br />Standard Specifications. The result of any testing that does not meet the requirements <br />shall be the rejection of the structure by the AGENCY, and the structure shall be <br />reconstructed by the Contractor at no cost to the AGENCY. <br />Reinforced concrete box conduit and bedding shall be constructed in accordance with <br />referenced Standard Plans and the plans. The unit price per linear foot for box conduit in <br />place shall be include full compensation for furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, <br />tools and incidentals for the concrete, reinforcing steel, shop drawings, providing as-built <br />plans, excavation of the trench, including bituminous pavement, the control and removal <br />of ground and surface waters, the preparation of subgrade, bedding, structural backfill, <br />form work, shoring, potholing, temporary resurfacing, deep lift asphalt concrete <br />pavement for permanent resurfacing, clean-up and all other works necessary to construct <br />the conduit, complete in place and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore. <br />8.06 DEWATERING <br />The Contractor shall provide and maintain at all times during construction ample means <br />and devices with which to promptly remove and properly dispose of all water from any <br />source entering the excavations or other parts of the work. Dewatering shall be <br />accomplished by methods, which will ensure a dry excavation and preservation of the <br />final lines and grades of the bottoms of excavations. The methods may include sump <br />pumps, deep wells, well points, suitable rock or gravel placed below the required beddin g <br />for draining and pumping purposes, temporary pipelines, and other means. The <br />Contractor shall protect all trench work, storm drain construction and sub -surface <br />structures from rain damage and surface runoff. <br />The Contractor shall dispose of the water from the work in a suitable manner without <br />damage to adjacent property. <br />Conveyance of the water shall be such as to not interfere with traffic flow or treatment <br />facility operations. No water shall be drained into work complete or under construction <br />without prior consent of the Engineer. <br />Payment for complying with all provisions of this section shall be considered to be <br />included in the various items of work involved and no additional compensation will be <br />allowed therefore. <br /> <br />505 E Central Ave <br />#B11/6/2024
