CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: XX-XXXX <br />PROJECT TITLE <br /> <br />206 <br />9.11 PROTECTION OF EXISTING SITE IMPROVEMENTS <br />Restore disturbed turf areas, irrigation systems, concrete, etc. Repair damaged park <br />equipment and turf caused by the Contractor to new condition, including backfill and <br />sodding of trench surface to the Engineer’s satisfaction. <br />9.12 GUARANTEE <br />The Contractor shall guarantee all work under this Contract to be free from defects in <br />material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of acceptance of the <br />work for filing of the Notice of Completion. <br />The Contractor shall repair or otherwise make good at its own expense all defects <br />developed during the guarantee period. The Agency may notify the Contractor by the <br />telephone or in wiring, and all the guarantee work shall be performed within 48 hours <br />after receiving notice from the Agency. <br />The Contractor’s general guarantee shall be on their letterhead, and shall include the <br />foregoing provisions and emergency telephone numbers. Together with the required <br />manufacturer’s guarantees, the Contractor’s guarantee shall be bound and furnished to the <br />Engineer in at least three (3) copies. Lamps shall be guaranteed as follows: <br />Lamps – 5,000 hours. <br />Ballasts shall be guaranteed for a minimum of one year. <br />9.13 MATERIALS <br />A. GENERAL <br />All materials and equipment shall be new and bear the label of or be listed by the <br />Underwriter’s Laboratories or the National Fire Protection Association, where <br />applicable. All materials shall be the standard products of manufacturers regularly <br />engaged in the production of such material and shall be the latest improve design. All <br />materials of the same type of one system shall be supplied by the same manufacturer. <br />In no case shall conduits, wires, etc. be smaller in size or less in number than that <br />shown on plans or called for in these specifications, even though codes may accept <br />otherwise. <br />Exposed conduit shall be hot dipped galvanized rigid steel conduit. All ells shall be <br />factory made rigid galvanized steel conduit. No PVC ells shall be used unless noted <br />on drawings. All ells 45 degrees and larger shall be sweep bends. All rigid steel <br />conduits exposed to earth 12” above finished grade shall be wrapped with 20 mil <br />PVC tape. Scotchrap No. 40 (green) or equal. PVC conduits shall be U.L. listed <br />Schedule 40 with properly cemented fittings. All underground shall be the PVC <br />Schedule 40. PVC conduit shall contain a green grounding conductor.
