Form Materials: Plywood, metal, metal-framed plywood, or other acceptable panel-type <br />materials to provide full-depth, continuous, straight, smooth exposed surfaces. <br />1. Use flexible or curved forms for curves of a 100-foot or less radius. <br /> <br />B. Form Release Agent: Provide commercial formulation form-release agent with a maximum of <br />350 g/L volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that will not bond with, stain, or adversely affect <br />concrete surfaces and will not impair subsequent treatments of concrete surfaces. <br />1. Available Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, products that may be <br />incorporated in the Work include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />a. Debond Form Coating, L & M Construction Chemicals. <br />b. Crete-Lease 880 VOC, Cresset Chemical Company. <br /> <br />2.2 REINFORCING MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Reinforcing Bars and Tie Bars: ASTM A 615, Grade 40 for #3 bars and Grade 60 for bars <br />larger than #3, deformed. <br /> <br />B. Plain, Cold-Drawn Steel Wire: ASTM A 82. <br /> <br />C. Joint Dowel Bars: Plain steel bars, ASTM A 615, Grade 60. Cut bars true to length with ends <br />square and free of burrs. <br /> <br />D. Dowel Sleeves: Speed Dowel, Aztec Concrete Accessories, Inc. <br /> <br />E. Hook Bolts: ASTM A 307, Grade A bolts, internally and externally threaded. Design hook <br />bolt joint assembly to hold coupling against pavement form and in position during concreting <br />operations, and to permit removal without damage to concrete or hook bolt. <br /> <br />F. Supports for Reinforcement: Chairs, spacers, dowel bar supports and other devices for <br />spacing, supporting, and fastening reinforcing bars, welded wire fabric, and dowels in place. <br />Use wire bar-type supports complying with CRSI specifications. <br />1. Use supports with sand plates or horizontal runners where base material will not <br />support chair legs. <br /> <br />G. Welded wire fabric reinforcement shall conform to the applicable requirements of ASTM <br />A185. Fabric reinforcement shall be furnished in flat sheets. Fabric reinforcement in rolls <br />will not be permitted. <br /> <br />2.3 CONCRETE MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Portland Cement: ASTM C 150, Type II <br />1. Use one brand of cement throughout Project. Coordinate with Division 3 Section <br />"Cast-In-Place Concrete." <br /> <br />B. Normal-Weight Aggregates: ASTM C 33, Class 4M non-reactive, and as follows. Provide <br />aggregates from a single source. <br />1. Maximum Aggregate Size: 1-inch. <br />2. Do not use fine or coarse aggregates that contain substances that cause spalling. <br />3. Local aggregates not complying with ASTM C 33 that have been shown to produce <br />concrete of adequate strength and durability by special tests or actual service may be <br />used when acceptable to Architect. <br />
