Bonding Agent: Acrylic or styrene butadiene, complying with ASTM C 1059, Type 2. <br /> <br />B. Epoxy Adhesive: ASTM C 881, two-component material suitable for dry or damp surfaces. <br />Provide material type, grade, and class to suit requirements. <br /> <br />C. Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide one of the following or approved <br />equal: <br />1. Bonding Agent: <br />b. SBR Latex; Euclid Chemical Co. <br />c. Daraweld C; W.R. Grace & Co. <br />d. Everbond; L&M Construction Chemicals, Inc. <br />e. Acryl-Set; Master Builders Inc. <br />2. Epoxy Adhesive: <br />a. Burke Epoxy M.V., The Burke Co. <br />b. Concrete Sealer: Water-based, deep penetrating, non-staining, non-darkening silane micro <br />emulsion. <br />1. Positive chloride-ion screening, prevents water intrusion, minimizes rebar corrosion and <br />potential concrete spalling, and protects against damaging effects of alkalis and other <br />contaminants. <br />2. Provide material that has a maximum volatile organic compound (VOC) rating of 350 <br />g/L. <br />3. Available Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, products that may be <br />incorporated in the work include, but are not limited to the following: <br />a. Pentane WB, L & M Construction Chemicals, Inc. This product is intended to <br />establish the characteristics and level of quality intended for this Project. <br /> <br />E. Expansion and Isolation Joint Fillers: ASTM D 1751, cellulosic fiber. <br /> <br /> <br />2.7 CONCRETE MIX <br /> <br />A. Prepare design mixes for each type and strength of normal-weight concrete by either <br />laboratory trial batch or field experience methods as specified in ACI 301. For the trial batch <br />method, use a qualified independent testing agency for preparing and reporting proposed mix <br />designs. <br />1. Do not use the Owner's field quality-control testing agency as the independent testing <br />agency. <br /> <br />B. Proportion mixes according to ACI 211.1 and ACI 301 to provide normal-weight concrete <br />with the following properties: <br />1. Compressive Strength (28-Day): 2500 psi for concrete for sidewalks; 3200 psi for <br />concrete in traffic areas, curbs and gutters. <br />2. The minimum cement content shall be 5-1/4 sacks per cubic yard. <br />3. The maximum concrete slump shall be 3 inches ±1/2 inch, for all walks; and 4 inches <br />±1 inch for all other Portland cement concrete paving. <br />4. Water/Cement Ratios: <br />a. 0.50 maximum for all site concrete.
