Conduct a quality control program that includes the following as a minimum: <br />1. Inspect conditions and materials to ensure conformity to the contract <br />requirements. <br />2. Establish written procedures for executing and testing the Work. <br />3. Inspect and test substrate conditions and coordinate with the membrane <br />manufacturer’s field representatives and the other trades to ensure proper <br />substrate preparation. <br />4. Inspect Work in progress to ensure that the Work complies with established <br />procedures. <br />E. Quality Control Program: In addition to the Contractor's quality control program, <br />arrange with the waterproofing membrane manufacturer to have a competent field <br />representative at the site during the installation of the waterproofing system to inspect <br />and approve substrate preparation before installation of waterproofing membrane, to <br />inspect Work in progress, to review completed Work, and to issue written reports of the <br />manufacturer's findings and recommendations to the Owner and Architect. The <br />Contractor shall include all costs for the field representative, including expenses. <br />1.8 MOCKUPS <br />A. Build mockups to verify selections made under Sample submittals and to set quality <br />standards for installation. <br />1. Build mockup for each typical waterproofing installation, including accessories to <br />demonstrate surface preparation, crack and joint treatments, inside and outside <br />corner treatments, and protection. <br />2. Approval of mockups does not constitute approval of deviations from the <br />Contract Documents contained in mockups unless Owner specifically approves <br />such deviations by Change Order. <br />3. Subject to compliance with requirements, approved mockups may become part <br />of the completed Work if undisturbed at time of Substantial Completion. <br />1.9 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br />A. Delivery: <br />1. Deliver materials to the site in manufacturer’s original, unopened containers and <br />packaging, with labels clearly indicating manufacturer and material. <br />2. Do not deliver material to site more than one month before use. <br />B. Storage: <br />1. Store the material in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. <br />2. Store materials indoor in an area well-ventilated and protected from damage. <br />3. Do not store material near open flame, sparks, or hot surfaces. <br />4. Store materials on raised platforms and covered by waterproofing covers. <br />5. Keep material containers closed. <br />C. Handling: Protect materials during handling and application to prevent damage. <br />D. Remove and replace materials that cannot be applied within their stated shelf life.
