The Basis of Design Report will include the following Issues; • Overall. evaluation of the existing well based on current operation and City standards. • Recommended well rehabilitation. » Recommended Well modifications required to pump water directly into distribution system instead of into :adjacent reservoir: size of pump/motor; pump to waste; et0. • Evaluation of chlorination facilities and any recommended modifications. » Evaluation of sits Payout, access issues, piping Modifioations, :eto, » Evaluation..& existing electrical taoilitles and recommended upgrades, • Evaluation .of existing communications and controls, Recommend upgrades. » Identify any hydraulic issues for the change in well operation. Update. the wed Operational Functional` Specifloallon for the well (ars Qptt4As I Teak). • -Summarize. the alignment analysis and the recommended alignment selootion. • Determine pipeline mat6rial; PVG for water main (unless restrained joints are required and DIP is recommended); and PVC (SDR -33) for the sewer main (unless depth Is greateuthah 10 to 12 feet and extra -strength VCP to recommended). • Summarize the preliminary staging for construction and traffic management.plan. » identify all permits and time frames for processing said permits.. • Prepare prellminary estimate of probable construction costs. Tetra Tech will prepare preliminary drawings (30% milestone) for both the pipelines and well rehabilitation as part of the Basle of Design Report. Task 6, GEOA Documentation . Tetra Tech :will prepare documentation required to fulfill the California Environmenlal Quality Act (CEQA) requirements. We have assumed an initial Study (IS)/Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) will be required as was in the RFP for both Well No. 32 and Well No. 20 Rehabilitation Projects. However, on similar past projects where the rehabilitation of the well was minor and no building modifications were required, a Notice of Exception was only required as the project was only replacing an existing facility with no appreciable upsize In capacity.
