We have learned that the following issues and <br />guidel(nes are important to consider when undertaking any publicworks construction project., <br />Understanding of the project's and the agency's primary goals and objectives <br />h Understanding financial constraints/opportunities and resource allocation <br />Coordination with stakeholders, policymakers, and utility companies <br />Realistic cost estimates Wlth contingencies matched to each work. phase <br />Practical schedules and appropriate milestones with continuous monitoring <br />P Familiarity with applicable local codes, standards, and pians <br />Partnership approach with public, agency staff; and contractors <br />Periodic meetings between the CSG project manager and agency staff to monitor progress <br />Bidding and Construction support <br />CSG provides construction support services Including responding to RFrs, reviewing contractor submittals, <br />and conducting occasional site visits for nearly every projectwe design. In addition, our Construction <br />Management Department has the capability of providing part-time orfull•Urne inspection and resident <br />engineering services. <br />CSG views Its shop drawing review role as an Integral service during the project construction phase 60 that <br />the City has confidence that the quality of the installed materials is comparable to the specified materials, <br />Short turnaround of shop drawings, RFI's, and other construction documents are among our highest priorities <br />to assure continuing progress during construction. <br />25E-335 <br />
