LAE Associates could be <br />designated to provide federal funding assistance consultant to ensure the City's documents are <br />processed and approved In a timely manner by Caltrans. <br />STEP 3:;! PLAN (SCOPE OF WORKI; <br />Upon selection of the design team for the contract, TAIT initiates the preparation of the detailed project <br />scope of work tailored to the needs of the specific project requirements. (See Scope of Services section) <br />STEP 4 :2� EXECUTE; <br />Upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed, TAIT will actively and effectively execute the scope of work for <br />this contract. Our assigned project manager will stay in constant contact with the City and will remain <br />available and responsive to the City's needs through the life of the project. At the heart of each <br />relationship and team member Is effective communication of the gpgs& Emotionsibili sual ty <br />rqg mentg and scbedutina needs. <br />Finally, TAIT has clearly defined the scheduling needs on this contract and will communicate the <br />deadlines and needs to each of the team members. <br />An important feature of our design process is our Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Program. <br />TAIT has established clearly defined quality control and quality assurance protocols set in place In the <br />office. As part of our scope of services and fee proposal, we have set aside time to ensure that quality <br />control Is incorporated In to the contract. <br />TAIT assigns a O.A/QC Manager to each project to ensure reviews occur prior to making submittals to the <br />reviewing agency and 'the City is provided a quality design. Mr. D. Todd Schmieder, P.E. has been <br />assigned to oversee TAIT's WCiC program for this project. TAIT's QA/QC Program focuses on the <br />following four primary objectives: <br />• To ensure that a quality design has been provided by following our in-house design checklists <br />• To verify that different design disciplines have been coordinated <br />• To verify that the proposed improvements are constructible, and <br />• To verify that a cost effective analysis approach was followed in achieving the client's specific <br />project goals and objectives. <br />TAiT utglzes a Total Quality Management approach.-TAiT's philosophy is that quality control begins at <br />day one and does not end until the project is constructed. <br />Quality Control Is the responsibility of each and every team member. -1t includes the selection of <br />project team members who have demonstrated the ability to understand and apply the project <br />objectives to achieve a specific goal, It requires continuous communications between all parties. <br />TAIT has developed Internal design checklists. - Design checklists are used by our design team members <br />as a component of our firm's design process and not solely part of the QC process. <br />Timely Quality Control Reviews are provided. -before plans are submitted to outside parties, TAIT's <br />QA/QC Manager or his designated QC team member conducts a thorough review to verify the quality, <br />constructability and completeness of the submittal. <br />��� TAIT Page 18 <br />111--- <br />25 <br />-567 <br />
